Oakway Academy Challenge Partners Report

We are delighted to receive the Challenge Partners report for Oakway Academy following a visit last month by an external review team. The team was made up of current senior leaders from other schools and a lead reviewer with extensive inspection experience. The team judged that all aspects of the reviewed work at Oakway were effective, including school leadership at all levels, school improvement strategies and remote education provision.

The team praised leaders and those involved in governance for their clear and accurate understanding of strengths and areas for improvement in the academy, as well as the effective model of distributed leadership in place across the school.

The review team were particularly impressed with the way in which the school uses strategies to support and develop the learning of pupils with English as an additional language and could see how this had a highly positive impact on their progress. The team felt that the academy had developed an effective culture of reading, enhanced its focus on mathematics mastery and further strengthened resilience in writing promoting pupils’ progress in these subjects.

The Trust is very proud of the journey that Oakway Academy is on and see this as example of how it is raising standards and striving to provide an education without limits.
